My name is Dustin Godtfring, an Honors Graduate from both Mansfield University and Lock Haven University. In 2013, I earned a history degree from Mansfield. Following graduation, I worked seven years as a high school psychology and history teacher in Virginia, where I discovered a passion for working alongside adolescents and young adults in understanding their mental health needs. I earned a Master of Science at Lock Haven University in 2021; upon graduation I gained several years of experience in substance use rehab and general clinical care. I continue to express interest in trauma informed care, veteran studies, and animal assisted therapy. I have a clinical companion named Gandalf, who has been working over the years to become a paws-itive, established therapy dog.
I’m a person-centered therapist with experience addressing trauma, mood disorders, veterans and additional clinical concerns through eclectic therapeutic strategies. I am committed to assisting diverse populations learn how to build healthier relationships with themselves, their family, and community. My work focuses on creative and individualized strategies such as art, drama, and music to target ineffective behaviors, habits, and beliefs. I believe that taking a creative and collaborative approach will help you reach and exceed goals.
I am passionate about developing unique resources tailored to your needs for the purpose of empowering you. I have previously created numerous activities, discussions for adolescents to adults struggling with various personal, academic, and/or career related concerns.
